Warning: SPOILERS
It was by far the most emotional episode that I have ever seen in Kamen Rider, no, ANYTHING IN TOKU. I never thought I could physically tear up over a Toku show. But I was wrong. Seeing two people die, Saeko and Phillip. And seeing Shotaro, without a partner, after getting used to the whole 'two in one Rider'. We are now one episode away from the end, and I must say....I am not ready for the end.
With the Double and OOO Movie War coming in the fall sometime, I have a feeling we may be left with a cliff hanger at the end of 49. Just not ready for that. But there will be a good ending to it. One way or another. I am excited for 49, and finally seeing Kamen Rider Joker in action will make the ending just that much more better. Having Phillip's gift be the lost driver and a blank book, which seemed to be Shotaro's, and a note asking Shotaro to protect Fuuto, it really put in perspective how the growth of Shotaro and Phillip had over the show. From Phillip mocking Shotaro how he was still, 'Half Boiled.' to now, when he leaves Fuuto all to Shotaro's hands.
But, after everything I said, the best part, is when Shotaro stopped Phillip from de-henshing. Few words were said, but the final words, could have touched everyone's hearts. "Goodbye." "Ah." Of course both were translated from Japanese, but still. I just can't believe.....Phillip is gone. W is now Joker. And Episode 48, will be forever known, as one of the most Epic Episodes in Toku series.
Here is the Series RAW:
